Momentum is a habit tracker. This policy describes exactly what it collects, where that goes, and how to get rid of it. It is written to match what the app actually does — not what habit trackers generally do.
When you sign in with Apple, Momentum receives and stores your name and email address. Apple offers these only on your first sign-in.
If you choose Apple's Hide My Email, Momentum only ever sees the
@privaterelay.appleid.com address — never your real one. The app shows you
when that is the case. Momentum never receives your Apple ID password.

Please read this one. Habit names are free text and are stored on our server in plain, readable form — as is the exact record of which days you did and did not complete each one.
If you name a habit something you would not want associated with your account, that information is stored. A habit called “Take medication” alongside a record of the days you missed it is, in practice, sensitive information about you.
Momentum does not read, analyse or share this — but it is not anonymous and it is not encrypted in a way that hides it from the service operator. If you would rather not store something in this form, give the habit a name that means something only to you.
If you connect Apple Health, Momentum reads five things, and only ever reads — it never writes anything back to Health:
Momentum reads these as daily totals. It does not read heart rate, sleep, body measurements, clinical records, workout routes, or any location data.
None of this leaves your device. It is stored in Momentum's local database on your phone and used to work out whether you have earned a fitness badge.
What does reach the server is the conclusion: for example, that you earned the badge for covering 100 km on foot, and the date you earned it. Your level and XP are also affected by fitness badges. So while no Health readings are transmitted, some Health-derived facts are. We would rather say so plainly than claim more than is true.
If you decline Health access, every other part of the app works normally. Apple does not tell apps when Health permission has been refused, so fitness badges will simply sit at zero progress.
On your device, and on servers operated by Supabase, which hosts the database and handles sign-in on our behalf. Supabase acts as a data processor: it stores the data so Momentum can function, and does not use it for its own purposes.
As with any internet service, connecting to the server means your IP address is visible to that infrastructure. Momentum does not store your IP address in its own database or use it to build any profile of you.
Access is enforced at the database level so that your account can only ever read and write its own rows.
Momentum shows you how you compare with other users — your percentile, and how rare each award is. These figures are built from counts only: how many accounts sit at each level, and how many hold each badge.
Those totals contain no names, no habits and no account identifiers, and there is no way to work backwards from them to an individual. No other user can see your habits, your record, your name or your email. Momentum has no profiles, no feed, no friends list and no sharing.
Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes, from the server:
This cannot be undone.
Two honest caveats.
You can also sign out without deleting anything. Signing out stops your data syncing and hides it in the app, but keeps it on the device for when you sign back in.
For as long as your account exists. Momentum keeps your complete history rather than summarising it, because your streaks, XP and awards are all worked out from that history every time they are displayed — nothing is stored as a running total.
Delete your account and it goes.
Momentum is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and it will be removed.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to its processing. Account deletion is available directly in the app; for anything else, get in touch and we will respond.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or where it goes, the app will be updated and the date at the top of this page will change.
